Scope and Content
The Notes on Calkins Family is the 3rd edition compiled in 1949. Mrs. Sharps compiled the first edition in 1943 and the second in 1946. Volume 1 of Notes contains an indexes of Calkins names and of Calkins marriages. Also generations 1 through the first part of 6th of the genealogy (pages 1 to 143). Volume 2 contains the last part of generation 6 and generation 7 of the genealogy (pages 144 to 405). Volume 3 contains generations 8 and 9 of the genealogy (pages 406 to 511). Also unplaced parentage (pages U.P. 1 to 35); unplaced marriages; New York census records; Wisconsin records; Land bounty warrants and Civil War pensions; Vermont records; New Hampshire records; Records from Genealogical Society of Utah; Probate records; Michigan data; Massachusetts deaths; Barbour and Hale records from Connecticut State Library.
The working papers contain miscellaneous data from various sources. Mrs. Sharps collected this data over a thirty year period prior to her death in 1954.
