Historical NoteFrom Robert S. Scharpff letter to Connecticut State Library, April 21, 1986: "Charles W. Skinner, who died in 1979 in Fresno, Calif., spent about fifteen years of his adult life (from about 1932 to 1947) actively tracing the Skinner family of Connecticut genealogy and for maybe twenty or more years thereafter in less active research in the same direction. Sometimes prior to the beginning of World War II, probably in the middle 1930s, he put together in printed form most all of what he had discovered regarding this family, and had this material bound into book form in San Francisco."
