Portrayal of Private William Webb, Civil War Soldier of the 29^th Connecticut Volunteers

Now before I begin, I’d first like to give thanks and honor to all those who fought and died for our freedom. I think back to the year 1828.  There is a young slave, by the name of Nat Turner, who desired to be free. All Nat ever wanted was a chance at freedom.

So, one day he had a vision that if slavery was going to be abolished, somebody had to die; blood had to be shed.  So, Nat Turner gathered fifty-nine men and one women and he tried to overthrow slavery.  But in 1830, he was captured and he was hung.
