Agency History :

1963, June 6, a Commission on the Arts established by Special Act 106, to make a comprehensive survey of the state and report findings to the Governor by Jan. 1965.
1965, July 1, a permanent Commission established per P.A. 579.
1995, Commission on the Arts transferred to the State Library for administrative purposes only.
2003, June 30, Commission on the Arts merged with other agencies to form the Commission on Arts, Tourism, Culture, History, and Film per P.A. 03-6.
