Agency History :

1975, established per P.A. 75-486.
1979, Jan. 1, P.A. 71-614 created a Dept. of Business Regulation and made the Office of Consumer Counsel a new Division in the Dept. of Business Regulation, called the Division of Consumer Counsel.
1980, Dept. of Business Regulation is abolished and the Office of Consumer Counsel is reestablished as an independent agency within the Dept. of Public Utility Control for administrative purposes only, per P.A. 80-482.
