Currently (2007) authorized and funded by the federal Developmental Disabilities
Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000.
1971, Dec. 17, Governor Thomas Meskill appointed the first Council on Developmental Disabilities.
1978, referred to as the State Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities.
1990, Annual Report issued as the Connecticut Developmental Disabilities Council. (Agency name change occurred between 1982-1989).
1993, Annual Report indicates name change to Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities.
