1950, Office of Civil Defense established
per 1955 Cum. Suppl. S.1906d.
1959, Office of Civil Defense becomes a division of the
Military Dept.
1973, becomes Office of Civil Preparedness, a division of the State Military
Dept. per P.A. 73-544.
1979, Office of Civil Preparedness is placed in the new
Dept. of Public Safety
1988, October 1, Office of Civil Preparedness becomes the Office of
Emergency Management, stays under the Dept. of Public Safety, per P.A.
88-135.
1999, Office of Emergency Management transferred to the Military Dept. for
administrative purposes per P.A. 99-190.
2005, merged into new
Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, per P.A.
04-219.
