Statutory Authority :
CGS Public Act 872.
1971, established by P.A. 872, sec. 2, to consolidate the power and duties of many programs throughout state government dealing with the environment. In 1971, the Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources was split. The agricultural components were absorbed by a new Dept. of Agriculture, while the natural resources components were transferred to the new Dept. of Environmental Protection. These programs included :
