Agency History :

1947 July 1, established to enforce all laws previously enforced by the Dairy and Food Commissioner with the exception of dairy laws, per P.A. 401, sec. 13. Also assumed from the State Police all powers and duties concerning Weights and Measures.

1959 becomes the Dept. of Consumer Protection.
