1895, State Board of Highway Commissioners and Connecticut Highway Department established, per Public Acts Chpt. CCCXV.
1897, Board of Commissioners replaced by a single State Highway Commissioner per Public Acts Chpt. CCXXIX.
1969, October 1, merged into the new Dept. of Transportation per P.A. 768 and became the Bureau of Highways.
