Agency History :

1960, established. Connecticut county government was abolished effective 10/1/1960. These 9 county jails became state jails,
administered by this new agency :
New Haven
Hartford
Bridgeport
New London (Montville)
Windham (Brooklyn)
Middlesex (Haddam)
Tolland
Danbury
Litchfield
1968, merged into new Dept. of Correction
