Special Note: In 1937, there was a Department of Public Works established by the Public Acts, 1937, chpt. 126. Robert A. Hurley was the Commissioner from 1937-1941. George L. Burke was Commissioner 1941-1943. The Dept. was abolished effective March 5, 1943 per section 464g of the 1943 Supplement to the Connecticut General Statutes.
