Agency History :

1935, Board of Southbury Training School appointed.
1938, January, construction begins.
1940, school is dedicated. First patients admitted Oct. 15, 1940.
1959, administratively, Southbury is transferred to the Dept. of Health, Office of Mental Retardation, per 1959 P.A. 148.
1975, administratively, Southbury is transferred to the new Dept. of Mental Retardation, per P.A. 75-638.
