1979, Dept. of Economic Development established by P.A. 77-614. From 1979-1992, an office within the Dept. focused on tourism, using
         several different names over the years : Governors Vacation Travel Council; Governors Tourism Council; Tourism Division ; Marketing
         Services; Marketing Division; and Marketing and Tourism Division.
1992, October 1, The Office of Tourism is established within the Dept. of Economic Development. The Connecticut Tourism Council
          is also established, within the Dept. of Economic Development for administrative purposes only, to provide oversight of the Office of
          Tourism.(CGS Sec. 32-301)
1995, October, Dept. of Economic Development becomes the Dept. of Economic and Community Development.
          Tourism functions transfer to the Dept. of Economic and Community Development
2003, June 30, Office of Tourism and Connecticut Tourism Council merge with other agencies to form the
          Commission on Arts, Tourism, Culture, History, and Film per P.A. 03-6.
