Parent Town: New Haven 

The East Haven Probate District was originally constituted August 1868 from the New Haven Probate District, but was annexed back in that district in 1883.  The estate papers for this “old” East Haven district (August 1868-January 1883) are included with those of the New Haven Probate District.  A “new” East Haven Probate District was constituted on January 5, 1955 from the New Haven Probate District.  The East Haven Probate District merged with the North Haven Probate District to create the East Haven – North Haven Probate District which serves the municipalities of East Haven and North Haven.
