Town established in May 1850,

Parent Town: Derby

 

The Derby Probate District was constituted July 4, 1858, from the New Haven Probate District and began processing probate matters for the Town of Seymour on January 1, 1899.  On January 5, 2011 the Derby Probate District merged with the Woodbridge Probate District to enlarge the Derby Probate District and serve the municipalities of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Woodbridge.
