Historical Note

From Note page: The Notes were compiled by Payne Kenyon Kilbourne, M.A. who was secretary of the Litchfield County Historical and Antiquarian Society, author of "Sketches and Chronicles of the Town of Litchfield, Connecticut", which was published in Hartford in 1859. In the preface to the "Sketches and Chronicles", Mr. Kilbourne wrote, "The Family Genealogies in my possession, and for which I had hoped to find room, would alone fill a volume of the size of this".

Arrangement

The Notes are arranged alphabetically by families, with miscellaneous memoranda in the back of the book. Newspaper clippings are interspersed throughout.
