Preserving the Past, Informing the Future | Skip Navigation Links |
There are so many papers you’d like to keep- children’s artwork, garden plans, letters, cards, invitations and newspaper clippings, but what is the proper way to save them? Participants will learn how to properly care for their family’s documents and memorabilia so they will survive for future generations. Gunn Museum staff will review how and where to store your heirlooms, the difference between acid-free, buffered and lignin-free containers, the consequences of improper storage, as well as many other preservation hints. Bring your paper documents and photos for recommendations. Supplies such as acid free document boxes, folders and sleeves will be available to purchase. Seating is limited. Please call 860-868-7756 to register for this free program. For more information call 860-868-7756 or view www.gunnlibrary.org.
