How to Take This Course
Preferred Web Browser
AASLH's elearning courses have been designed to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE), versions 5.5 and above. If you are currently using Netscape, Mozilla, AOL, or any browser other than IE, you may want to exit the course, open IE, and log in to the course again. To determine what browser you're using, go to the top of this page, click "Help," and then click "About." To download the latest version of IE, visit the Internet Explorer home page.
Course and Lesson Length
We recommend that you plan to spend about one and a half hours to complete this course. You may want to spread this time over a few sessions. To support this approach, we've divided the course into lessons. We suggest that you go through them in the order they're listed since some lessons depend on knowledge from previous ones. You can take a break at the end of each lesson or, if you want, bookmark a specific page within a lesson so that you can return directly to that spot next time you log in to the course.
Navigating Through The Course
To proceed through the course, use the navigation arrows at the bottom of each page. Or you can click on the Syllabus button in the left frame to see the table of contents and navigate directly to the page you want. If there are several hours of inactivity, the program will automatically shut itself off and indicate that the session has timed out. If this happens, you will need to log back in to the course.
IMPORTANT: In order to view subtopics, you must use the Back and Next buttons, not the topic hyperlinks at the bottom of each page. Subtopics are not listed in the Table of Contents.
