Course Overview  This course is divided into six lessons:  This Welcome lesson serves as an orientation to the course Lesson One explains what historical records are and why they are important. Lesson Two differentiates historical records from other historical materials. Lesson Three defines what kinds of organizations hold and collect historical records. Lesson Four answers the question, what exactly does the term "archives" mean? Lesson Five answers the question, "What is an Archivist?" The Course Conclusion summarizes the key concepts of the course and provides a link to the final exam, as well as additional resources.
