| Topic: | Types of Materials Held: Overview |
Types of Materials Held Overview Organizations that hold historical records often also hold other types of materials that have historical significance such as artifacts, objects, and published materials. These three types of materials--records, publications, and artifacts--are related. However, they are handled, managed, and preserved in different ways and with distinct professional standards and practices. In this lesson, we are briefly defining the types of materials for you. In the courses that follow, we'll be discussing the standards and practices relating to historical records. |
