Defining Archives, continued

Archives are Repositories

"Archives" can also refer to a building or part of a building where archival records are located. Here, "archives" refers to a physical location or facility.

Archival repositories vary widely in size and structure, depending on the needs of the organizations and their budgets.

They range from large, elaborate, well-funded physical facilities (such as the National Archives) to small, limited facilities (such as a room at the local public library).
