Course Objectives  Objective To define and demonstrate how to determine the scope and method for collecting archival records.   Outcomes At the end of this course, the user will be able to:    1. Define what a collections policy is, understand its importance, and draft a collections policy    2. Use a collections policy and appraisal tools to evaluate historical records    3. Recognize the significance of obtaining legal ownership to historical records transferred to an archives and implement these practices    4. Develop acceptable processes for bringing  historical records under physical and intellectual control
