The Finishing Touches

Once you have completed the preservation work on the entire collection, you will need to create permanent box labels and, if you haven’t already, assign the collection a permanent collection number according to your existing internal practices.

Permanent box labels should be adhered directly to the box with appropriate archival adhesives.

The label should, at a minimum, include the Unique Collection Number and the number of boxes in the collection.  A sample box label could look like this:
