| Topic: | Be Prepared |
|
Be Prepared! The key to responding to disasters is to be ready for them. People faced with a disaster often don’t think clearly, so the more prepared you are the better. There are several simple steps you can take that will help you when a disaster occurs. To help you pull your preparedness lists together and begin creating your disaster plan you can print out and use this template. Please read the template all the way through. It has blank checklists, but it also has important information about how to treat damaged materials. As we work through the rest of this lesson, keep it nearby and fill in the information that you already know. Later, fill in missing information. If some of the template doesn’t apply to your situation, just leave it blank--your disaster plan must reflect your current situation. When it’s complete, you can delete the sections that don’t apply, and you will have a solid foundation for a complete disaster response and recovery plan! |
