Lesson 2 Conclusion
Outreach to your audience doesn’t have to be expensive and overly time consuming. Outreach should be but one aspect of your overall historical records program. If you have never done outreach activities before, start with activities that are small in scale and simple – creating brochures, writing a press release, or working as part of a committee for a community event.
No matter how simple or elaborate your outreach efforts are, getting the word out about the unique resources your historical records collections offer the community is an important task that must not be overlooked by caretakers of records.
