Subject: Whiz Bang! ConnTech Hits 400!

It's not exactly front page news, but...

The ConnTech discussion list now has over 400 subscribers. ConnTech has
proven to be a fast and effective way of reaching individuals interested in
Connecticut's libraries.

Here is the ConnTech mission statement, which I just unearthed from the
archives:

The CONNTECH discussion list will provide an online forum for sharing
ideas, debating issues, and encouraging professional growth for those
interested in all aspects of Connecticut's libraries, particularly
information technology.

Not bad, but at the time not everyone liked it.

James Michael Kusack suggested the alternative mission statement:

Whiz Bang! We like Information!

[I think Mr. Kusack has since left Connecticut. Last report, he was
wearing a straw hat, and making brandy for monks at a hermitage in Encino.]
