Subject: Bonding approval for the State Public Library Construction
Good news. I just heard from the State Library's Bill room that the House and the Senate passed the
bonding package. This bonding packet includes $2.5 million for 1997/98 and $2.5 million for 1998/99
for the State Public Library Construction Grant Program. This grant can be used for construction
(new, addition, and renovations), handicapped access, code compliance, remodeling for new
technology, and energy conservation.
For remodeling for new technology you can include wiring and furniture, but not the actual
computer(s).
