Public Library Directors:
SNET will be holding another information session on the Universal Service Fund on August 22nd at the
Trumbull Marriott. Several librarians called me yesterday to say they had gotten calls from SNET
urging them to attend. According to these librarians, SNET said that if they did not attend they
would not be eligible to apply for USF discounts. This of course is not true. This session is for
information only. I called SNET and they assured me that they only meant that you must
preregister in order to attend the workshop.
The State Library and the JCT USF Committee also will be holding information sessions, probably in
late September.
