Nearer than Ever -- More than Before
Connect at the Tech

University of Connecticut -- Storrs, CT
The Homer Babbidge Library is hosting its annual Technology Fair on
Tuesday, October 7, 2-5 pm, to launch the latest services available to
users of the University of Connecticut Libraries.
The Technology Fair, Nearer than Ever, More than Before, highlights the
growing number of digital resources accessible across the UConn system.
Library staff will describe connectivity options, demonstrate databases
available through the Internet, and show the latest advances in information
technology.
Many newresources are full text, displaying the entire article, book, or
reference source. Although the databases and full text services are chosen
for the students, staff, and faculty of the University of Connecticut, most
are also available to anyone entering the University of Connecticut Libraries.

Current Contents
The premier current awareness database; part of the ever-growing suite of
SilverPlatter Electronic Reference Library databases.
Electronic Journals
More and more quality journals, dating from the 19th Century to the
present, are available electronically.
RLIN: Research Libraries Information Network
Three newly accessible databases, Anthropological Literature, Avery Index
to Architectural Periodicals, and History of Science and Technology.
Beilstein CrossFire
Structure searching of Beilstein, an exhaustive database of organic
chemistry compounds.
GaleNet
A full text Web accessible reference collection including Contemporary
Authors and Associations Unlimited.
FirstSearch
Seven newly accessible databases, including Dissertation Abstracts, Books
in Print, GeoRef, RILM, and others.
MathSciNet
Definitive database to mathematics research, published by the American
Mathematical Society.
Electronic Course Reserve
Electronic Course Reserve is a popular Library project that digitizes
materials placed on Reserve. Assigned readings on the Web.
Culpeper MicroLab
New Microlab of thirty Pentiums, with Office 97 and full Web access.
And many other services Including GIS, InfoTrac, Britannica Online, and more.
Presentation Schedule:
Formal classroom demonstrations are scheduled in the new Library Classroom
on Level 2.
