My question is to other libraries that have tried this. Does it seem to get much use? Do you do much advanced publicity or just added the forms to the site? Have there been any problems in terms of the forms suddenly not working? Any complaints from people with forms incapable browsers?

Hi Kim,

I think this is an excellent idea and one that will be greatly
appreciated by your patrons. As part of the ReQuest On-Line Trial
Project we were able to offer our patrons the ability to fill out an
interlibrary loan form and submit it from home. We gave them
step-by-step bookmark sized instructions. It met with great success with
our patrons. Though not all our interlibrary loaners took advantage of
it, the many that did thought it was a wonderful service to offer. WE
had to limit the form request to holdings of on-line libraries but told
patrons they could e-mail their requests for materials from libraries
using the cd product directly to me. Though our circumstances are a bit
different than what you are proposing the idea behind it is basically
the same. I hope someone can help you with the details and that you
pursue this project.
