Subject: Children's librarian
Resumes are still being accepted for the position of Children's Librarian at
the New Britain Public Library. This is an opportunity for a librarian with
a penchant for programming to learn and share in a dynamic and energetic
environment.
CHILDREN'S LIBRARIAN, Librarian I
Full-time librarian in Children's Services, responsible for doing both
in-library and outreach programs for children ages preschool through Grade 5
and providing reference and reader's advisory service. Participates in
materials selection and collection maintenance. Reports to Head of
Children's Services. Requires a demonstrated ability to work with children,
knowledge of children's literature and child development required. Requires
vehicle and valid CT driver's license to conduct community outreach programs.
Position requires an MLS from an ALA accredited institution, computer
literacy, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ability to
get along with a wide variety of people and to manage difficult situations.
Proficiency in Polish, Spanish or another language prevalent in New Britain
prefered. Evening and Saturday hours included in schedule.
