Subject: everything in moderation
As a big believer in everything in moderation (and good things to excess!) I
think the Internet definitely has its place...but...
The other night at midnight when all civilized libraries around here are
closed, my son needed the addresses of two optometrists in East Haven because
he had to go there in connection with his job. For one of them he had been
given an incorrect address, and for the other, no address at all. I suggested
we use the WWW to look them up, and we found something called Yellow Pages
and looked up optometrists in Connecticut (in case anyone needs to know,
there are 658 listed). They gave addresses and phone numbers and even offered
the option of printing a little street map to find them. Fabulously
helpful...but with one snag. The listings were alphabetized by the *first*
name of the person, and all those who were listed as *Dr.* Whosits, were in
the D's.
Think of it as a work in progress...
