The following is a revised job posting of the previously posted "Training
Librarian" position:
Applications Support Specialist:
Bibliomation, Inc., a non-profit organization providing automated services
to Connecticut libraries. Salary 30K, based on experience and skills. With
considerable independence, acts as libraries' primary contact, providing all
aspects of customer support in the use of system software. Duties include
conducting training classes in use of system software for members; creating
and maintaining documentation; preparing routine online and written
communications; providing telephone hotline and reference support; preparing
and maintaining members' site-specific system requirements. In conjunction
with User Services Coordinator, tests and troubleshoots changes to system
software; acts as liaison with vendors for problem resolution; edits and
publishes network newsletter; creates, edits and loads World Wide Web pages;
trains and supports member libraries in the use of Windows based Graphical
Client Software.
Qualifications: BA or equivalent, broad knowledge of library services and
computer applications, experience using CARL automated system, 3 years
experience in library services, experience using Windows-based software for
HTML, word processing, and desktop publishing. Personal attributes:
presentation and training skills, ability to work well with others,
excellent written and verbal communication abilities, willingness to work
under pressure with a minimum of direct supervision and within a flexible
