       Librarian 1 or 2, Information Services Department, University of
  Connecticut Health Center Library, Farmington, Connecticut.

       The UCHC Library is seeking an energetic, technologically
  proficient entry level or experienced reference librarian for a position
  on their Information Services staff.   The department consists of  4
  professional librarians and two parttime staff who work to  meet the
  research, patient care and education information needs of the UCHC
  community.    IS staff are very active in information resource
  training of faculty, staff and students.

       Responsibilities include the cooperative coordination
  of all aspects of the Library's electronic reference services; serving
  as webmaster coordinating all staff contributions to the Library's
  website;  developing and teaching information resource-related
  classes; performing computer searching on the biomedical databases;
  assisting users with Library materials and information resources; and
  other duties as assigned.

       Applicant qualifications include an MLS from an
  ALA-accredited school of library science;  considerable interper-
  sonal, oral and written communication skills; experience with
  online databases; a high level of computer literacy and experience
  with microcomputer software and hardware, especially word-
  processing, presentation and spreadsheet software; understanding
  of the use of Internet applications and tools; and the ability to
  develop and implement projects.  Preferred experience includes
  teaching , Problem Based Learning,  HTML and UNIX experience.

       The position carries the rank of Librarian 1 or 2 depending
  on qualifications.  It is a 40 hour work week with a minimum salary of
  $41,981 (1) and $44,753 (2)  and excellent benefits.

       The University of Connecticut Health Center Library has a
  staff of 36, 17.5 of them  professional librarians.    Library staff
  operate in a highly technical environment  including a  NOTIS online
  system,  a variety of OVID databases, and several standalone
  electronic workstations including Science Citation Index and the
  Health Reference Center.    The Library serves as the Regional
  Medical Library for New England in the National Network of Libraries
  of Medicine supported by the National Library of Medicine.
