Subject: Internet is "flat"

Dear Conntechers:

I was at the CEMA conference last Friday, and one of the speakers noted
how that the free Internet flattens history, because much of the
information on the net is current, not respective. So much of the past
has not been digitized.

I was thinking how my electronic magazine index EBSCO Primary Search is
limited to only the past 5 years. So information that is older is not
quickly available except through the printed indices.

So tonight, I tried as an online library patron (or consumer) to find
some information . . . and could not.

The question was what was the name of the plaza and the town in
Connecticut that had a major construction disaster within the last 10 or
15 years. It was someplace like Bridgeport, Danbury, west of New Haven.

Now when could I dial in: I tried LION including Readers Guide and
EBSCOhost, I tried Auto-Graphics reQuest webPAC, and I tried multiple
searches on Alta Vista, Excite, Webcrawler.

What should I have tried?
