Some of our staff currently use OCLC's First Search in their reference
work, but we do not have it directly available for public use.
We are considering doing so, but have been concerned about how to budget
for it because it is a service where "the meter is running" on the number
of searches performed, the number of databases accessed, etc.
Which libraries have First Search available to the public?
How do they budget?
What have their costs been like?
Please contact me either via the list serv, or otherwise if you have some
answers or experience.
Thanks,
Vince Juliano
