Subject: Children's Librarian, search extended
Wanted: Energetic, creative Children's Librarian for busy, progressive
urban library. 37.5 hour week with some evening and weekend work. This
librarian will be part of a team and will be responsible for doing a wide
range of in-library and outreach programs and providing reference/reader's
advisory service. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of
children's literature and learning styles and will participate in materials
selection and collection maintenance.
An MLS from an ALA accredited institution is required. Experience working
with children in a public library setting is preferred. Computer literacy is
required and hands-on familiarity with computer hardware (PCs, printers,
etc.) will be useful. Proficiency in Spanish, Polish or another language
used by New Britain residents will be a real plus, but is not required.
