Subject: Re: Publicizing Library e-mail accounts

The Bethel Library is not a large library(pop is -18,000). We have 5 email
addresses, all on our web page and in our brochure. We have had some
questions, but not an overwhelming amount. We try to encourage the
questions to go to the proper dept , but most go to the webmaster. I pass
them on to the proper person, and send a reply to the patron explaining what
I've done. We also take book requests, library card applications and
suggestions over the internet. There haven't been enough questions to worry
to much about setting formal priorities. Someone who is standing in front of
you, or on the phone gets your first attention and then longer reference
questions -- phoned, faxed, emailed or snail mailed.

hope this helps
