1.
The University of Connecticut Libraries are currently recruiting for
two positions in the Information Technology Services area.

NT Systems Administrator, Systems Administrator II (Search #98A466)
This position is responsible for several NT servers that distribute
data and applications to Library clientele.

Duties include: overall integration and planning for Library servers
currently running on NT, Unix, and Novell; analysis and improvements
to the operating environments of the NT primary domain controllers,
backup domain controllers, WINs, DHCP, SMS, SQL, DNS, and RAS
servers; and development of server-based NT solutions for the
Library, including the need for remote workstation management.

Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in computer
science or related field and 3-5 years relevant experience or an
equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated
experience integrating servers and applications across platforms;
and experience with WAN and LAN network infrastructure and protocols
including TCP/IP and DNS, DHCP, or WINS.

Desired qualifications include: ability to achieve MSCE
certification; demonstrated NT server experience; familiarity with
SMS or other remote management systems, SQL Server, and other
components of Back Office.


2.
Webmaster/Database Developer, Computer Programmer/Analyst II (Search
#98A468). This position provides software programming support,
primarily for HTTPD, HTML, C, Java, and PERL.

Duties include: supporting the Library Information Server;
developing SQL databases, and supporting multimedia aspects of
library instruction.

Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in computer
science or related field and 2 years related technical experience or
an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge and
experience with web server technologies; HTML expertise; knowledge
and experience with languages such as C and PERL; experience with
SQL databases and DBMS software, particularly as delivered through
the Internet; and familiarity with networking, TCP/IP protocol and
client/server applications.

Desired qualifications include: experience with NT Server 4.0;
familiarity with C++, Java, and JavaScript, expertise with
multimedia applications; and familiarity with graphics software.
