Thought I'd pass this along.

Subject: Sarajevo Library
Wednesday night's All Things Considered had a story about the Sarajevo
Library. As you may know, during the war in Yugoslavia, the Sarajevo
Library was burned down. Also, many people lost their private libraries
when they ran out of other fuel to stay warm.
Librarians are trying to rebuild the collection, but a lot of unique
material was lost.
If you, or anyone you know, did research at the Sarajevo Library and made
photocopies for your personal use, you may have the only extant copies of
that work. I'm not entirely sure who to contact about this, but they are
desparate.
If you have Real Audio, you can listen to the complete news story at
http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/980722.atc.06.ram
Please forward this to other librarians who might have been to Sarajevo.
To prevent this from eternal repetition on the web, do not repost this
material after December 31, 1998.
