Subject: [CONNTECH] NEW YA LISTSERV for Connecticut

    Hello,
       I would like to announce a new listserv run by the Connecticut State Library, for discussion of issues related young adult library services in our state. The listserv is called SPEAK (after the Printz Honor Book by Laurie Halse Anderson) - thanks to the suggestion of many members of the YALSA-BK List. Information and discussion about upcoming programs, books, programs, issues, and occasionally synopses of discussions on other YA listservs will be posted here.

       Here's how to subscribe:

       In the To: line of a new email, from the address you wish to subscribe, type: Majordomo@csuweb.ctstateu.edu
       
       Type nothing in the Subject line

       In the body of the message type subscribe speak

       You should get an email that confirms your subscription

       To post to the list send email to: speak@listhost.libct.org

       If you subscribe to goodnightmoon, our children's services listserv, you know that on that listserv when you read a message and hit reply, your reply goes to the whole list. At this point, when you hit reply on SPEAK, your reply will only go to the sender of the message you are replying to. If your message is meant as a reply to the whole list, you will have to change the address to: speak@listhost.libct.org. Please keep that in mind, and DO SPEAK!

       Please pass the word to any of your library staff who might be interested!
