Bibliomation launched its new Virtual Reference Desk service October 1st
with the inauguration of its own website at "AskYourLibrary.Org". Patrons
will be able to come to this site, then select their library from the list
of participating libraries and be launched into an interactive web search
through a live interaction with a reference librarian. This service is
    available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

This service is open to both member and non-member libraries. Bibliomation
has created a special demonstration queue so that librarians from around
the state can experiment with the service directly in order to decide if it
is appropriate for their own institutions.

To use the demonstration, simply go to "www.AskYourLibrary.org". Select the
box that says "Choose Your Library". One of the choices is the
"Bibliomation Demonstration Queue". Once you make that choice you will be
taken directly to the service. You will be able to ask any reference
question you might have. The search is free. We do ask, however, that
librarians experiment with this service between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on a
weekday or 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. These are the times when we have
additional levels of reference support available so that the demonstrations
do not conflict with the direct service to patrons. (Note: Demonstration
Queue questions have a lower priority for service than patrons from
    participating libraries.)

Libraries interested in making this service available to their patrons will
find a sign up form on the AskYourLibrary.Org website. Libraries interested
in more information about the service should contact Mike Simonds
    (msimonds@biblio.org) or Sharon Clapp (sclapp@biblio.org).
