Consider becoming a part of the CLA Mentoring Program.

The Connecticut Library Association Mentoring Committee has jumpstarted a mentoring program in Connecticut. Individuals new to the library profession will have an opportunity to explore the world of librarianship, while seasoned workers will have assistance in moving or advancing their careers. One-on-one relationships will help individuals evaluate their skills and different aspects of librarianship. Career opportunities in academic, public, school, and special libraries can be examined. Professional advice, problem solving and vision development can be discussed through a social-professional networking opportunity, without the pressure of working for a grade.

If you are interested in being either a mentor or a protégé, please visit the CLA website at
www.lib.uconn.edu/cla/ for more information and an application. The deadline for this year's application is December 10.
