Subject: [CONNTECH] New iCONN

    To all iCONN Users:

    If you have visited iCONN at www.iconn.org within the past month, you
    may have noticed an alert message on the screen which reads:

    "Alert: This site's appearance and functionality are being revamped.
    The alert link will take you to an explanation and preview of the
    changes."

    You may also remember that, during the last weekend in March 2004, we
    changed the user interface to reQuest (the statewide library catalog) in
    order to provide a resource menu that would enable users to search not
    only reQuest but also a number of other resources - separately or
    simultaneously.

    We are now about to take the next step, which is to make all the iCONN
    licensed databases available for searching - separately or
    simultaneously - from the same resource menu. And to make all these
    resources available (with appropriate authentication) from
    www.iconn.org.

    If you click on the Alert link at www.iconn.org, or simply go to
    http://www.iconn.org/alertchanges.html you will see an explanation
    and preview (with screenshots) of the changes that are being planned for
    later this summer. Please note that the examples shown relate primarily
    to resources available to public library users. When the new site goes
    live, users will see the resource menu appropriate for their home
    library affiliation (public, school or academic).
