CONSULS Directors

Meeting, Dec. 14, 2005

The CONSULS Directors met at SCSU on Dec. 14, 2005. Topics discussed included:

• Meeting with new CSU CIO Anne Agee. Directors shared information about CONSULS, and its needs with the new CIO.
• III Edifact. CONSULS has purchased the Edifact module that will allow use of the upcoming extended ISBNs.
• CONSULS Server. The replacement server is at the Systems Office and is being configured. It will be mirrored at CCSU.
• CONSULS Committees. The Directors discussed the Systems Committee minutes, and decided to request clarification on some issues.

The Directors would like all Committee Chairs to send their group’s minutes via email to:

• all Directors,
• the Chairs of the other Committees, and
• Mike Berlin at ECSU, berlin@easternct.edu
• III Training. Diane Pizzo of CSL will work with the Access Committee to set up ‘in-consortium’ training in Millennium Acquisitions and Millennium Serials. Directors would like these to be on the same day if possible.

Stephen Slovasky of CSL will work with the Cataloging Committee to set up ‘in-consortium’ Millennium Cataloging training.

Directors also would like to have “Create List’ training/updating, perhaps again as up ‘in-consortium’ training.

• JSTOR Journals. Eastern, Southern, and Western may consider discarding print journals available electronically through JSTOR.
