There are many ways you can help CRIS fulfill its mission. CRIS provides programming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so we typically have program reader opportunities available, either at our Broadcast Center in Windsor or, at one of our Regional Satellite studios (Danbury, Norwich, Trumbull, and West Haven). Program readers generally volunteer one day a week for 60 to 90 minutes. Program readers at CRIS Regional Satellite studios read their programs live, either in the morning (beginning at 8am), or the evening (beginning at 6pm). In Windsor, recorded Program Reader opportunities also exist.
In addition to Program Readers, we have varying needs at our Broadcast Center in Windsor for individuals to: edit audio prior to broadcast; operate the control board for live broadcasts; help with mailings and general office duties; serve on our Board of Directors; assist with outreach by serving as speakers at civic organizations, writing press releases, developing promotional material, and writing/editing our newsletter.
