This facility houses the Information Services Division (the library of the State Library agency), the State Archives, and the Museum of Connecticut History.

Hours, etc.
The Library is open Mon.- Fri.: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.. The library is closed on Sundays, State holidays, and Saturdays when a holiday observance is on a Friday or Monday.

The Archives/Secured Collections Research Area within the History and Genealogy Reading Room is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. weekdays.

The Museum of Connecticut History is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday. The Museum is closed on Sundays, state holidays and Saturdays when a holiday observance is on a Friday or Monday..

Lounge
The library's lounge is open to the public. Vending machines provide snacks and drinks for consumption in the room.

Food and Drink
No eating or drinking is permitted in the reading rooms or stacks.

Smoking
No smoking is permitted within the State Library building.

Where to Stay

Where to Eat
The State Library has no restaurant facilities. A cafeteria at the Legislative Office Building diagonally across Capitol Ave. is open to the public. A small restaurant is available on the first floor of the CEA building on Oak Street and vendor trucks are available around Bushnell Park in warm months.
