System Outage Procedures
A service of the Connecticut State Library and your local library

reQuest Participants:

This is to inform you that Auto-Graphics has implemented improvements in its notification procedures for system outages that occur outside of normal help desk hours (evenings, weekends). As a result of these procedures, it is NOT necessary for libraries to notify A-G that the system is unavailable. The following procedures are now in place:

  1. In the event of a complete system outage, including one resulting from a power outage, the system will automatically page A-G's technical staff. (The system that does the paging runs on a different server.)
  2. Anyone attempting to access the system will see a message that says, "Error #61 (mmx) - System unavailable; please contact customer support". (Previously, the system displayed only "unregistered library".)
  3. As soon as the information is available, A-G's help desk will post a message confirming the change in system status and estimated time to repair to a new "System Status" page (maintained on a different server) - which you can access at http://www2.auto-graphics.com/agus/system_status.html. During these off-hours, system status updates will be provided through this system status page, not through the help desk voice announcement. A-G will also attempt to reach reQuest staff by phone.
  4. reQuest staff will notify reQuest participants through the reQuest electronic discussion lists set up for ILL and CAT.

If you are ever unsure of what the current system status is, and the time is outside of normal help desk hours (8 am - 8 pm EST), please check the system status page indicated above. Thank you.
