Positions
The Connecticut State Library is recruiting for a part time (35 hours per week) Assistant Storekeeper.
This position will be located at the State Records Center in Rocky Hill. The Center provides centralized, off-site storage of public records for approximately 60 state agencies. The 25,000 square foot facility has a storage capacity of 77,000 boxes. This past year, the Records Center, a two-person operation, received shipments of 9,718 boxes from various state agencies and oversaw the destruction of 7,698 boxes.
Primary responsibilities of this position are storage and retrieval of boxes. Other duties include processing reference requests, including inter-filing, retrieving, and re-filing records; providing excellent customer service to state agency employees; filing and maintaining paperwork and statistical information; using a computer to maintain inventory record information; operating equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand carts; lifting and shelving boxes up to 60 pounds; and related duties.
